Stay away from booking it

Masochistic nostalgia of the Soviet past

This venue shouldn't advertise on Booking.com The staff doesnt know how the system work, the listing is inaccurate and misleading. They dont accept credit cards and the closest ATM is 5km away. The staff is unknowledgeable and really dont care to solve any issues. I booked a double room with 2 beds with an ocean view, non-smoking. Turns out it was booked for 1 person only (probably I missed it somewhere). Calling them wasnt an option (they didnt pickup, changing on the booking.com wasn't an option, a message to the hotel didnt get through, however booking.com team replied twice). TTurned out all rooms are smoking and the smell was rediculous. No ocean view. The room was extremely cold and the thermostat wasnt working. In "all-inclusive" only one bottle of water was included. More - to buy in the store. Mind - the ATM is 5km away. The venue is very old and run down. By no standards, it is a 4-star. Maybe it could work if you buy a package with the travel agency.

Nothing. It was a complete dive. I had to kick my door to make it open.

Food. Made me ill. Room was dire. Staff weren’t friendly. Alcohol was undrinkable.

Excellent all-inclusive resort for a reasonable price

- The beach is close and wonderful - Large clean swimming pool - Nice room, comfortable beds - The food exceeded our expectation, it was actually very delicious with plenty of choice - Excellent value for the money

- Would be good to have more beach umbrella's around the swimming pool - Accommodation needs refurbishment and repair (work in progress)

Was not pleased at all and couldn’t wait to leave.

I did like the beach and they do have a cafe with great coffee.

I didn’t like the quality of the facility. It’s basically falling apart. The staff was unfriendly, the food was not edible, the entertainment was not entertaining and the well alcohol included in the all inclusive was outright disgusting. Varadero is beautiful but this hotel is not.

Nice relaxing sun for a couple of days.

The beach! Mostly very friendly staff. Quite ok buffet. Relaxed atmosphere. The evening shows were generally nice (the magic night was awesome).

The water dripping air-condition you could not set which made the room all moist. The not in advance told rules about reservations for a la carte, which turned out to be "full" despite being half empty. The lack of written information about times for food etc. upon arrival.

I liked the night show and the reserved restaurant at night.

There wasnt much to do, basically that hotel was empty i was bored. The buffet was not so great. Sorry i dont recommend

Loved it!

Very nice hotel, the typical Soviet Union style, like Sunny Beach in Bulgaria 20 years ago. We loved this resort as it had nice entertainment, very beautiful beach, nice pool area, very quiet and cosy. The food is average, but it's okay, in general the food in Cuba is not very good, so this resort was offering the best they can.

Loved most of it!

I loved the entire place. It has a beautiful lobby, a great pool surrounded by palm trees and a gorgeous entrance to the beach. The staff was great, and the drinks AMAZING. The food was good, some days better than others, I just wished they would have offered tostones, platano frito or chicharitas daily since in Cuba that is part of a daily meal, I was a dissapointed they never had it as part of the buffet. I had so much fun watching all their night shows and dancing at La Bomba nightclub. I had an amazing time overall.

Unfortunately even though they would do our beds daily, they would not sweep that well so the floor would still have some sand in it. I also believe the room building halls need to be painted. It looks very outdated and not taken care of.

Worth if you find a good offer

Given the price (last minute booking) it was worth the money. Food is decent (drinks are awful), pool in ok, beach is gorgeus. Some of the staff were lovely, some other... way less. I didn't understand why so much difference between them.

A/C was incredibly loud and the room was... run down and in severe needs of care. This is way far from a 4 star hotel.

Lovely stay - if you look for resort type of holiday

Room was very spacious and it had a balcony which was nice. Breakfast and lunch had a huge selection. The staff was very friendly, beach and swimming pool area were also very nice.

Limited chairs by the pool, guests would reserve chairs in the morning so too bad for the late comers. Quality of the drinks was also not very good, wine was a bit of a let down.

Great facilities. Close to the beach. Good pool. Great cocktails.

There are only two dining rooms which serve pretty much the same food everyday (with very few changes). It tires you a little, and it’s average good.

A worn-out hotel with a new name

Beautiful beach. Good paella n grilled food in the beach cafe at lunch.

We stayed there for 2 nights. During checkin, the staff did not tell us the beach cafe Caleta and the restaurant Varadero 1887 that were covered by the all inclusive package, and they needed reservation at a service desk (opens 9:30 ~ around 17:00) for dinners and did not given us vouchers. by chance, we found this out on the first night, and we were only to book a table in the 2nd night in Varadero 1887! When we firstly entered the room, we found the lock of the balcony door was broken and called the frontdesk at once. They refused to change us a room, and sent a technican to interrimly fix the problem. The whole process wasted us 40 minutes. We were not able to open/close the door again, so were not able to use the balcony. The temperature of the air-conditioning was not adjustable, it was so cold. Turnout, we turned the main switch off.

Relaxing glorious and will return!

The location was fantastic lots of activities for everyone. The staff is the best I have ever had and I have stayed at many in Varadero. I was just at Naviti a few months ago and I truly enjoyed your resort so much more! Yes the resort is old but it is still really really good! I would like to say the beach restaurant was so amazing and the staff there yashmir I think his name was the head waiter amazing friendly and knowledgeable with everything we asked and he certainly made us felt welcomed. We also had Orlando what a really nice young man. He made sure we looked after he took our pictures for us explained questions about the food and was so friendly. There were others there as well I can’t remember thier name but seriously some of the best staff I wish we were able to eat there every night! I would say these people are your strongest staff members! I would like to add that Ismarie in the upper lobby bar such a wonder disposition and so friendly and really made sure we were treated so nice! She is amazing! I am going to write a report on trip advisor as well. I have been travelling for a long time now and this is a wonderful great resort. I have stayed at the Bahia principe resort Sandos caraco tres reos just to name a couple in Mexico that I went to and I would honestly say I am hooked on Cuba and this resort hands down will stay again hopefully in may we will be back for Trisha’s birthday!

I ordered tropical flowers for our room and I paid 35 pesos for the order I received 6 half dead roses I was quite upset about that because roses are not tropical and they are bought here in Canada that bouquet would be 5 dollars here it was very disappointing I wanted the flowers for the smell and to look at flowers we don’t see here. I didn’t get a refund and no one seemed to care. Then I saw a mad his name was Dennis he was a guest there he had the bouquet I asked him where he got it and he said he got it from the restaurant booking girl ( she ordered the flowers for me) anyway he got them I paid for them and no one cared and did nothing really for the mistake. I also was told that the transportation from and to hotel was included and then it was not according to the email I received from Ana from the resort. So theee seems to be a bit of miscommunication there and I paid for that miscommunication 35 for the flowers plus the 40 each way to and from the airport. Also because we booked the hotel on our own a little bit of info of where things were at resort would be a nice thing to have just like the airlines do for third guests ... we were just your guests so a bit more attention could be given there.

Not expensive, stunning beaches, lovely entertainment, don’t expect pristine decor. Enjoyed!

Hotel entertainment was best part of hotel experience. It was excellent! Service wa also excellent.

Rooms and hotel corridors look dirty but it is just that the paint job is probably as old as hotel. Cuba does not have resources to update all the time.

Comfortable hotel located on a beautiful beach

Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant had a very good selection of food and tasted good. Highlight was the location. Hotel is right on a beautiful beach, which is great for relaxing.

Some parts of the hotel need a bit of renovation. Some ants found in our hotel room.

Beautiful foyer with a nice garden, lovely restaurant by the close beach with friendly staff.

The food was good, especially the restaurant evenings of which three were included but we used just two because we did not want to have pizza. The staff were all helpful and very friendly, despite some rather rude guests. The evening programmes were very entertaining and professional.

The accommodation building and the men's toilet in the main building needs some urgent attention in terms of repair work. This, we can see was being done and hope on our return it will be to a much higher standard, fitting of a four star rating.

Location and beach is excellent. We liked the pool and pool bar between meals. The choice at the restaurant was wide. We liked our meals a lot. It is possible to book different excursions and take part in many activities in the hotel area.Staff is very helpful and speaks good English.
